If you truly love InDesign CS6, buy a used perpetual license (eBay, second-hand market) and install it legally on your laptop. Carry your source files on a USB drive, or use cloud storage. It is less "magical" than a portable executable, but it will never corrupt your thesis or steal your passwords.
