Gearbox Software acquired the Duke Nukem IP in 2010. Since then, they have largely ignored the Manhattan Project spin-off.

In 2011, a mobile developer called announced they were porting the game to iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android. The iOS version was released. However, due to compatibility issues with newer versions of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean at the time) and licensing disputes with 3D Realms, the Android port was cancelled indefinitely.

However, the game also serves as a reminder of the design philosophy of the early 2000s. It is challenging, often requiring precise timing for jumps and enemy avoidance.
