Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside, there lived a young boy named Kumar. Kumar was known throughout the village for his eagerness to grow a bamboo tree. One day, he approached the village elder, a wise and kind man named Thambi, and asked for a bamboo seedling to plant in his backyard.
Thambi, pleased with Kumar's enthusiasm, handed him a small bamboo seed. Kumar planted it with great care, watered it daily, and waited impatiently for it to grow. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, but the seedling showed no sign of growth above the ground.
In the rich tapestry of our cultural heritage, there exists a treasure trove of stories, legends, and folktales that have been lovingly passed down through generations. These are the "Athai Kamakathaikal," or Grandmother's Stories, which have not only entertained us but also imparted invaluable life lessons, moral values, and insights into the human condition.
